NASS Policy and Advocacy 

NASS strives to tell public education's compelling story, including working to highlight school district's innovative and invaluable work for national, state and local media, as well important industry press. Our goal is to build greater awareness about public education's successes, including helping federal and state leaders better understand the important work schools provide to students, their families, and communities. 

NASS Federal Advocacy Committee

NASS is excited to announce its' new NASS Federal Advocacy Committee that will begin its' work in the fall of 2018 under the leadership of the NASS Board and assistance of the Federal Advocacy team, play a key role in all NASS advocacy efforts. Comprised of NASS superintendents across the country, the Committee will play a central role in developing the associations federal policy positions, which are the foundation of our advocacy efforts, and will lead our advocacy in Washington D.C. and within the Administration. Combined, these federal policy positions will make up the NASS Federal Advocacy Platform, which is a statement of goals, policies, and objectives that will be reviewed by NASS members and approved by the NASS Board annually.

The NASS Federal Advocacy Platform will be key to the memberships advocacy efforts throughout the 2018-19 school year and central to the 2018 NASS Federal Advocacy Conference in September 23-25, 2018 in Washington D.C.
